Collection: Gulbadan Necklace
The Gulbadan is the most ornate piece in the Zarmina collection- a layered bib built around a vertical spine of three rectangular gemstones, with feathered cascades to either side and a small glass or stone medallion drop below. The form is borrowed from the layered necklaces of the Mughal court, where multiple tiers of gem and gold sat one over the other in deliberate abundance. Translated into beadwork, it keeps the density and loses the weight: the work is heavy, the necklace is not.
Wear yours over a plain crewneck or a wide-open linen button-down, where the spine has room to lead. This is the piece for the night you want to be the most-dressed person at the dinner, ithout anyone calling it dressy.
