Unakite Desert Dusk Necklace

The structure comes from Morocco. Bridal silver in that region is built horizontal, layered across the chest, geometric and load-bearing in equal measure. This is that logic translated into bead and stone.

Unakite is an altered granite: pink orthoclase feldspar and green epidote grown together into a single stone, sourced primarily from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. The olive and salmon in these tablets are not a colorway choice. They are the mineral record of two separate geological processes occupying the same rock.

Two horizontal rows of unakite tablets sit across the chest, framed by olive and ruby red beadwork. Green glass teardrops hang along the base. At the center of the focal drop, an etched pale pink leaf bead. The loops connect the rows and carry the weight. The drop gives the eye somewhere to land.

Wear yours with a deep olive silk dress, an oxblood wool sweater, or a cream linen jumpsuit. A deep V or scoop neck gives the rows room to lay. For weddings, milestone dinners, or any room that wants the necklace to do the talking.
