Unakite is an altered granite: pink orthoclase feldspar, green epidote, and clear quartz, intergrown and inseparable. Sourced primarily from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. The pistachio-and-salmon colorway is not a surface treatment. It is the mineral composition, readable at the geological level.
This Egyptian collar sets unakite squares across the upper band, framed by hot pink and purple beadwork loops. Soft green teardrop beads line the lower edge. The stone's natural salmon reads warmer against the hot pink without tipping into sweetness. The green epidote grounds it.
The natural pink in the stone gets amplified by the beadwork without going saccharine. That's the move here: the color is doing real work, not decorative work. Wear it with a moss green linen dress, a cream wool sweater, or a black silk shell. For long lunches, spring weddings, or any day the wardrobe could use a little volume.
