Smoky Sparkles Burnished Collar Necklace

Jasper is a microcrystalline quartz, opaque, with its color and patterning coming from mineral inclusions. The rust red in these bars is iron oxide, the same mineral that colors rust and red clay. The pale banding in some of the bars is part of the stone, and the color is natural. Jasper rates about 7 on the Mohs scale, hard enough for daily wear.

This beaded collar necklace sits wide across the collarbone in two tiers, tan on top and mauve below, with gold glass holding the tiers together. The red jasper is the only saturated color on it, and it hangs off the outer edge as fringe, each bar cut with angled ends. Black glass rectangles break up the tan. In the middle, a dark purple glass bead with white swirls sits over a small amber one, ringed with smoky gray glass.
