Rose Quartz Burnished Collar Necklace

Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. Color comes from iron impurities combined with natural irradiation during formation. The pale end of the spectrum reads as lavender; the saturated end reads as deep purple. The focal stone here is a faceted rectangle sitting in the lighter range, closer to lavender than violet. Primary sources include Brazil, Uruguay, and Zambia.

Dyed banded agate is chalcedony with natural banding, stained to a uniform deep magenta. The banding is still visible in cross-section under direct light. The dyeing process saturates the natural porosity of the stone. The sphere here reads as a solid, concentrated magenta at the center bottom of the piece.

Rose quartz is a pink variety of quartz, color from trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese. It is typically translucent rather than transparent. The stick-cut beads here are pale blush to near-white, with the slight haziness characteristic of the material.

The double-ladder structure runs in dark navy seed beads that shift blue-green under direct light, with rose quartz stick beads hanging weighted along the bottom edge. The faceted amethyst rectangle sits at center, pale lavender and slightly translucent, which is exactly the right call against that navy. The dyed banded agate sphere drops below it in deep magenta. The palette is cool and saturated, and the magenta is what keeps it from going flat.

Wear it against a winter-white silk blouse, a charcoal wide-lapel blazer, or a deep plum velvet dress. Any neckline that clears the collarbone.
