Red Lightning Agate Desert Dusk Necklace

Red lightning agate is a chalcedony from the Chihuahuan Desert. The branching cream and rust veins are silica that migrated through fractures in the host rock under heat and pressure, each stone preserving a different cross-section of that movement. The red comes from iron oxide.

Eleven agate rectangles descend in a tapered grid across the collar, framed in red metallic and orange beadwork with cream accents. Dark burgundy glass triangles line the lower edge. At center, a single agate tile suspends above an iridescent glass spike drop.
