Red and Black Onyx Adriatic Splendor Necklace

Black onyx is a microcrystalline quartz, banded chalcedony in its densest form, with an iron oxide content that pulls the color into true black. It absorbs light rather than reflecting it. Against gold, that absorption becomes contrast. Against deep red, it becomes drama.

Seven black onyx squares anchor a collar frame of alternating gold triangles and red and black connections. Six fringe strands drop from the frame in red, black, and gold, terminating in deep red faceted glass. At center, a geometric diamond drop in black and gold hangs below a U-arc of red and black beads, with a small ornate red glass fish bead at the focal point.
