Picture Jasper Burnished Collar Necklace

Picture jasper is an opaque chalcedony. The banding is sedimentary record: silica-rich fluid settling into strata over millions of years, each layer a slightly different mineral condition. Oregon and Idaho are the primary sources. The palette runs ochre, rust, gray-brown, and olive. No two stones cut the same cross-section.

This collar necklace runs rust-red and dark green, with pentagon-cut picture jasper drops along the outer fringe. A teal crackle agate round sits at center, above an amethyst rectangle drop. The only cool note in an otherwise warm piece.

Wear it over a tobacco linen shirt, an olive wrap dress, or a camel turtleneck. Wide neckline. Let the collar sit where it was built to sit.
