Picture Jasper Adriatic Splendor Necklace

Picture jasper is a microcrystalline quartz, an opaque chalcedony with silica-rich fluid inclusions that settled into banding patterns over millions of years. The result is a stone that reads like a cross-section of desert sediment: sand, rust, cream, and ochre layered in formations that are never the same twice. Sourced primarily from the American West, Oregon in particular, and from Madagascar.

Seven picture jasper squares anchor a collar of teal bugle bead triangles and copper-brown connections. Six fringe strands in teal, amber, and copper drop below, weighted at the outer terminals with deep red jasper rounds. At center, a geometric diamond drop in brown and copper tones hangs below a teal U-arc, with a small carved green glass sun bead at the focal point.

The palette reads desert without announcing it. Saffron linen, denim, camel wool. October dinners, afternoon light that goes terracotta, any room where warm earth tones are doing the work.
