Moss Agate Drape Code Necklace

Look closely at a moss agate and you are looking at a landscape. Chlorite or hornblende crystallized inside microcrystalline quartz over millions of years, forming dendritic inclusions that read as moss, lichen, forest floor, aerial topography. The stone is translucent. The inclusions are internal. No two rounds carry the same map.

Six rows of those stones, strung on amber-toned glass tube spacers with amber floral glass cabochons filling the intervals between. Bicolor anchoring loops in teal and red seed beads pull each row into a tight inverted triangle that sits high on the neck, closer to a choker than the longer bib versions. The geometry is immediate. The detail takes longer.

The palette is not accidental. Moss agate green and amber-orange sit in direct complementary opposition. The amber glass spacers bridge them. The teal-and-red loops introduce a third temperature without competing with the stones. Each element is doing work on the others.
