Lavender Moss Agate Cleopatra Necklace

Moss agate is a translucent chalcedony with dendritic inclusions of chlorite that read as moss, landscape, or something growing. No two stones are identical. The squares here sit against iris-toned beadwork in purple and green, the color of a garden at the moment it tips from spring into summer.

Vine-like loops arc across the collar. Frosted leaf drops hang from each one. A deep purple glass oval at center adds weight without rigidity. The bugle bead chain keeps the whole structure off metal and on thread.

The palette is botanical without being literal. It reads differently in afternoon light than it does under gallery spots. That is a property of the stones and the iridescent glass, not a trick.
