Lapis lazuli has been mined in the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan for more than 6,000 years. It was ground into pigment for the blue in medieval illuminated manuscripts. It was buried with Egyptian pharaohs. It is one of the oldest traded gemstone materials in the world, and the color is exactly what you think it is: that specific, saturated cobalt that reads as blue before your brain has time to name it.

The Tracery structure sets that blue into a Gothic metalwork framework of open geometric cells, lozenge and loop alternating across the wrist. The lapis rounds anchor the borders and the cell framework. Inside the cells, cobalt and red glass loops hold the geometry in place, and the olive glass struts at each corner shift color in different light, reading green, then gold, then something in between, depending on where you're standing. A purple glass crescent sits at center.
