Labradorite Hoysala Necklace

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral. Its color comes from labradorescence, a structural optical effect produced when light refracts between twinned crystal layers. The visible color shifts from grey to blue, green, and gold depending on the angle of light. The three rectangular focal stones in this necklace behave accordingly: flat light reads pale grey, directional light reads blue-green to gold.

The ladder structure is chartreuse and olive seed beads. Teal glass teardrop pendants drop from each focal stone. Teal anchoring loop beads connect the focal stones to the ladder. The palette was built around the blue-green range of labradorite's optical shift.

Works with square necklines, boatnecks, and crew necks. Lays flat against the collarbone.
