Botswana agate is a banded chalcedony from the Bobonong district of Botswana. The fine parallel banding is a geological record, silica-rich fluid depositing in slow rhythmic layers over millions of years. The gray shifts depending on the light. No two stones band the same way.
Eight square agate tiles sit in a tapered descending grid, framed by gold, copper, and purple beadwork. Five iridescent glass spike beads hang from the bottom. A single peach/champagne clear glass teardrop drops at center.
The purple against the gray keeps it out of neutral territory without pushing it warm.
Pair with charcoal wool or soft lavender. Gallery openings, autumn dinners, low light.
