Banded agate is a chalcedony with distinct silica layers deposited at different mineral concentrations over time. The banding here is high-contrast: black and cream in clean horizontal strata, barrel-cut to show the full cross-section of each layer. Each tablet reads as graphic rather than decorative. These are not background stones.
The structure is two strands. A top strand of long cobalt blue bugle beads spaces the agate tablets across the neckline, with chalky pale blue nugget beads at each junction. Below, deep purple-indigo metallic seed bead loops connect at small faceted silver butterfly beads, which catch light with a clear flash at each pivot point. Opaque cream-white spike beads hang from the lower strand, matte finish, one per loop.
At the center, a Y-drop of cobalt bugle stems falls to a smooth cream glass teardrop focal, warm-toned and slightly translucent.
The palette is cobalt, deep purple-indigo, black, cream, and chalky blue. High contrast, graphic, and cooler in register than most of the Cleopatra colorways.
Pair with a black wool turtleneck, a slate blouse, or a charcoal sheath. For a workday with weight, an opening, or dinner anywhere with a wine list.
