Agate Cleopatra Necklace

Botswana agate is a banded chalcedony from sub-Saharan Africa, formed in layers of grey, cream, and brown that read differently depending on the cut. Here it is tablet-cut, so the banding runs across the face of each bead. That is the starting point.

The structure is the Cleopatra lattice: mauve seed bead loops with olive cube junctions, holding the Botswana agate tablets in place across the chest. Pale blue-grey chalcedony spears hang from the base. A white lace agate teardrop sits at the center drop, banded and polished, pulling the eye through a palette of grey, mauve, olive, and cream that is neutral without being quiet.

Pair it with a stone-colored linen dress, a fawn wool sweater, or a vintage silk blouse in cream. For travel, long lunches, or the days you want something neutral but not dainty.
