Electric Zigzag Hair Jewelry

The Electric Zigzag runs a band of open lattice beadwork along the side of the head, with horizontal zigzag lines stitched in seed beads, connected at each peak and valley, creating an airy mesh that spans from comb to barrette. The comb carries a spine of glass or gemstone focal beads along its visible edge.

The zigzag is one of the oldest geometric forms in design; it shows up in prehistoric pottery, Bronze Age textiles, architectural friezes across a dozen cultures. The "electric" part comes from the color pairings: this is not a quiet piece.
