Cosmic Cartography Hair Jewelry

The Cosmic Cartography runs a band of ladder beadwork along the side of the head, with  horizontal rungs connected by wave-shaped strands, with drop beads hanging along the lower edge. The comb carries a spine of glass or gemstone focal beads along its visible edge.

The ladder-and-wave structure reads like a section of a star chart or a topographic map,  lines marking something, even if you can't say exactly what. That's where the name comes from.
